Summer is Here

Adventures Thus Far

Summer is indeed a break for teachers and time to get away from the students and have some much needed and deserved rest. This summer I have had the opportunity to take two trips one at the end of June to Croatia with some friends and another in mid-July to Denmark to visit family.

Croatia

Is a lovely little country with some very friendly people, gorgeous scenery and beautiful clear waters. I joined 4 friends and their children to adventure out to Croatia's largest island, Krk and stayed in the small town of Punat. It was truly a time of rest and relaxation. We rented a van and drove to Croatia with a stop in Austria to visit a chocolate factory. Travelling through 4 countries in 9 hours!

Pictures say much more than words:

Day 1: Czech Republic --> Austria --> Slovenia --> Croatia

Day 2: Welcome to the island of Krk
We stayed in a small town Punat outside the city Krk in a lovely apartment flat with a lovely garden surrounded by olive trees.

If someone would like to tell me what is going on with this clock I'd like to know

we live on the planet Erath

Day 3: Boat Trip to an island with a monastery and a trip on a semi-submarine

Day 5 Boat Excursion: Swimming on beaches, touring the islands, swimming into caves, seeing vultures and getting caught in some windy waves.

Just a note that this is the colour of the water, no altering of the photo needed!

Do you see the vulture? My camera died just after this shot and I missed it flying

Travelling with a group of soccer fans and could not miss a match of the world cup - lucky the boat had a TV

Day 6 Rainy Day - Relax, build a fort and read

Day 7: Time to head back home, with a quick stop at Lake Bled in Slovenia

Was an amazing week and I was blessed to join this group of hardworking missionaries on a much needed restful vacation.

Next post - my journey to Aarhus, Denmark
