Seeing the Wind and the Waves
As I continue on this phenomenal journey I constantly relate my experiences to Peter's journey of faith as he walked on the water. Currently I am facing the discouraging battering one receives from the wind and the waves of the storms of life; I am learning to cling to the Truth that Jesus is there to catch me and guide me through the storm.
Praying through the storm:
Please pray about the paperwork for my Visa. It has been described as a "daunting task" and at times can be quite overwhelming. My anticipated leave date is mid-August, therefore I am already not within my 90 day Visa processing window. Clouds of discouragement are looming and it is all I can do to grasp onto the promises that God has it all in His hands.
Things to Praise the Lord for:
The school year at KCS is wrapping up nicely. It has been a joy and a blessing teaching my Grade Twos this year; hard to believe our year will be finished next Friday! How quick the year end has come! In and through it all my students are my daily reminders as to why I do what I do, and I thank the Lord for them!

So how did you end up on this adventure in the first place?
Over the past eight months God’s intricate plan has unravelled with a precision that has been encouraging. My journey began with a series of retreats and conferences in the Fall of 2010; where God laid it upon my heart the desire to go beyond my North American bubble to teach.
In January 2011 I met Mark Wiebe, a representative with the mission organization Teach Beyond. This encounter opened a door to the possibility of serving the Lord in a mission capacity. The looming question surfaced: was I ready to surrender financial security in order to serve God’s people? Placing my trust in God I began the application process with Teach Beyond.
Teach Beyond is an international organization committed to providing transformational education to children and adults around the world. Developing partnerships with schools in Europe, Africa, and Asia, Teach Beyond is active in training and appointing staff to serve in these various locations.
In a matter of a few short weeks I went from dreaming about teaching abroad, to accepting a grade one teaching position, serving in the gorgeous metropolis of Prague. Lord willing in less than 3 months I will be on my way to serve in the Czech Republic!
Joining the Vision
Why Christian Education? I have dedicated my life to serving in Christian Education. I find there is no ideal more exhilarating or more worthwhile than that of education in the service of Christ; helping children explore our world in light of the One who Created it.
Upon hearing of the Christian International School of Prague [CISP] and their deep need for primary teachers, I was instantly intrigued. Established in 2004, CISP provides quality education to students in grades one through to high school, providing students the opportunity to serve and transform their community for Christ.
A journey as big as this one can not be done alone! I challenge you to partner with us in prayer as we seek to be a light for Christ in the city of Prague.

Stepping out of the Boat
Welcome to my journey of faith. This year I was challenged to step out of my comfort zone. Placing my faith in my Creator I leaped into an adventure that requires me to Trust the Lord in ways beyond what I have ever experienced before. I invite you to join with me in prayer as we see God work in miraculous ways. Come... let us go walk on the water with Jesus!
