I think one of the many joys of being a first grade teacher is getting to watch the kids develop their writing skills. While two of my students are in English Language Classes learning to speak English I have two students who are more advanced in their English speaking and now are learning to write. Here is a shot of the creativity that comes out of young minds :)Lily the cow came from a lesson where we were learning about the /ow/ sound and all the words that make that sound: now how, down, town, brown, cow... Somehow it came about that we should name the cow in the poster and then write a story about her. So now I give you Lily the cow.
