November

Reading Day

On November 26th we had our annual elementary reading day; full of games, dressing up as book characters, read alouds and buddy reading. It was a fun time of celebrating authors, participating in storytelling and enjoying favourite books. Though we have a small group of elementary this year they really enjoy reading and it was great to be able to have a day to celebrate the gift of books and being able to read. We are blessed with a great library and many donations of books over the years. I am thankful for my many supporters who have helped bring and supply books to our school.

We had the grouchy lady bug, Anne of Green Gables, the hungry caterpillar , Fern and Wilbur, Fancy Nancy, Makova Paneka (Czech Poppy Fairy), Rainbow fish, Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins, Pippi Longstocking and Rapunzle  just to name a few.

This year I decided to be Fancy Nancy. If you have not heard of Fancy Nancy she is a lovely character who is creative and imaginative and loves to use fancy words to describe things. Things are not just interesting they are fascinating. Nothing is just fun it is entertaining and enjoyable. The books are written by Jane O'Connor and are wonderful for girls who love reading and anything fancy.
